B’nai Shalom Youth Program

Join us at Bohemia Ecological Preserve for our B’nai Shalom Youth program. B’nai Shalom is an earth-based Jewish educational journey bridging traditional ritual and nature rites of passage. We utilize a holistic "Head, Heart, and Hands" framework to cultivate deep relationships between our youth and Judaism, themselves, the land, and the community.

Become a member of Makom Shalom and enroll your child in the B’nai Shalom Youth Program.

Youth are grouped into age-based cohorts.

  • Tots (0–3 YRS): Parent-child engagement through singing, nature play, and basic blessings.

  • Kinder (4–6 YRS): A nature playgarden focus introducing the Hebrew alphabet, Shabbat, and the values of Tikkun Olam.

  • Pre-Mitzvah (7–11 YRS): Deepening prayer leadership and essential nature skills like fire-making and herbal medicine.

  • Mitzvah Makom (11–13 YRS): A dedicated B’Mitzvah journey including Torah leyning, synagogue training, and nature solo time (Hitbodedut).

  • Teens (14–18 YRS): Seasonal gatherings and leadership opportunities as program helpers during communal events.
