Introducing B’nai Shalom

Makom Shalom’s Youth Program

Our Age-Based Journey

B’nai Shalom is an earth-based Jewish educational journey bridging traditional ritual and nature rites of passage. We utilize a holistic "Head, Heart, and Hands" framework to cultivate deep relationships between our youth and Judaism, themselves, the land, and the community.

Our curriculum is designed to grow with your child, offering specialized focus areas for every stage of development

The Framework: Head, Heart, & Hands

We support families in embodying Jewish tradition while connecting to soul and nature

Head (Learning): Self-knowledge, nature survival skills (food, shelter), Hebrew liturgy, and Jewish calendar rhythms.

Heart (Feeling): Cultivating a sense of belonging, gratitude, awe, and an empowered individual identity within the community.

Hands (Action): Earth and community care (Shomer Adamah), embodying prayer through service, and developing leadership skills.

The Schedule

In addition to the 5787 addition Jewish learning during regular Shabbats and Holidays, we have added a monthly Sunday immersion program this year.

Our monthly Sunday program runs from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM and follows a rhythmic flow:

Morning (Gathering & Head): Opening Circle with gratitude songs and Hebrew calendar study, followed by sensory walks and Torah study.

Mid-Day (Hands & Heart): Ancestral work and gardening (Shomer Adamah) followed by a communal lunch for blessings and social bonding.

Afternoon (Soul & Closing): Nature play and reflection time (Hitbodedut), concluding with storytelling and Jewish folktales.
